Larry Ukali Johnson-Redd grew up in three Black Communities in San Francisco, Ca namely Hunters Point, Lakeview and the Fillmore and graduated from Balboa High School. I graduated from University of San Francisco with a BA, and Golden Gate University (Master of Public Administration) and San Francisco State University (Master of Educational Administration).

Larry Ukali has been a teacher of Government in Nigeria from 1977 to 1981.Executive Director of OMI-Pilgrim Community Center/ OMI Community Association. Elementary and Middle School Teacher Principal, SF Job Corps Center and the first African American Vice Principal at Liberty High School in Brentwood, California. I joined the Black Liberation Movement in San Francisco s Malcolm X Unity House when I was 16 years old. I married Chinwe Amechi Uzoma Johnson-Redd, a native of Nigeria and a beautiful wife who died 11 years later.
